Twilight

The first Twilight book was originally published in 2005. How did I miss it? I never even heard of these books until this summer! Oh what planet have I been on? I would have loved to have read them as they came out.

However, reading them after seeing the movie first wasn’t so bad either. Let me explain. As I was reading Twilight (the first book in the series) I was able to see the characters (as portrayed in the movie) and hear their voices. It was rather nice. Also, I knew what was to come from this book, yet still iffy on how it all happened and what was to happen after the first book.

For Christmas, a really great friend of mine bought me the Twilight Collector’s Edition of Twilight. It is really nice! It is hardcover of course and the pages are textured and it even has a red satin bookmark in it. It also came with a hard case. Really pretty.

Only one problem. Now, I am a full fledged Twilight fangirl. Yup, I have fallen deep into the Twlight hole. I read the whole book last night and this morning. I didn’t even want to go to sleep to put it down, but I knew I had to sleep – much like Bella has to eat sometimes. Ah the irony.

I also bought Rosalie’s Pendant Necklace. It actually arrived the same day as the Twilight book. Mmmhmm, coincidence? I think not. I plan on wearing it when I go see the movie again. Hey, I did admit I am a dork. Plus, the necklace will go great with one of my many black shirts and jeans.

I could easily write a proper review of this book, but really I am too amped to read the rest of the series to do that properly. For now, I will leave you with a farewell (until tomorrow that is) while I fall further down the Twilight hole.

I didn't find out about the book until last year, and didn't bother to read it until this summer.
When I started it I thought it sounded stupid. And then i regretted that. It had literally sat on my shelf for a year after I'd only read the first chapter.
Have fun reading the series! It's worth it.

Glad to see you enjoy Twilight! I read the first book and instantly fell in love and then saw the movie and loved it even more. But, for some odd reason I have no will to read the rest. Well at the moment. =)

Thanks :) Yeah, I am just waiting now to get the other books. Oh the time will drag on until I get to read them! Too bad I can't let myself read the spoilers... well I could but I am showing Edward-like strength here on this.

I also just bought Carlisle's Ring and a keychain and a shirt. OMG I am going nuts. But really it was a good deal I found compared to amazon.com prices on that stuff. Hehehe.

My daughter is 17, she asked for the series for Christmas. We got her all four books, which she opened on Christmas Eve (after midnight mass). She is on Book IV now! She can't put the books down and she said she wanted to read them before she went to the movie. She loves them!!!
Maybe, I will give them a try!

I feel the same way about my favorite authors as you guys do Twilight. I am not into Twilight (or anything that has to do with Vampires) but get this.... my husband wants to see the movie. I tried to tell him it's a girly movie but he won't listen. He loves anything that has to do with Vampires. This is where we differ big time. Do you guys think he will like it or what?

I think he will like it, but it is a very different kind of vampire movie. It is definitely much more of a romance story. If he liked Buffy and Angel, then he will most likely like it though. However, if he loved 30 Days of Night (omg I hate that movie) he will probably not like Twilight.
