Paint & Praise

I was actually able to do something fun and creative last night! I went to my first Paint and Praise class that a local church offers, and I really enjoyed it! I also quite liked the church and ladies who went, so I may just start going back to church again. I’ve been wanting to find one that I liked, and this may be it!

My family and I love homemade Mexican inspired meals. Not only are most of the ingredients gluten-free (which is a mandatory deal for one of us), they are also delicious and don’t break the bank when it comes to meal planning.

I love, love, love chicken quesadillas. I just have to be sure to get the corn flour ones (they are a little bit smaller, but I cannot eat the larger “flour” ones made from wheat). My Thoughts

Become an Earth Angel is a fabulous little book. If anyone wants to help others with healing or serving them, this should be read. It doesn’t discriminate on religion or spiritual beliefs, and just truly wants to bring about the most uplifting message of all to help others. Some of the information included in it, may not be for you – but the overall message is what matters the most. If you are open to receiving it, then this book can truly help you to navigate to your greater purpose of being an Earth Angel. I definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading about angels, spirituality, different dimensions, and healing.

Essential Oils and the Tin Man – A Testimonial

Most people are skeptical when it comes to using the essential oils for health benefits. My Dad is no exception, and let me tell you, he has a lot of health issues. To keep the list of his short, I’ll just say that he has had countless surgeries, procedures, knees replaced, pins inserted, takes injections daily, takes 2 handfuls of pills each day, and is still in a lot of pain and not feeling well. At least he has excellent insurance. If he didn’t, he’d be screwed and definitely not taking all of those medications.

When I signed up for my Young Living Premium Starter Kit, he thought I was crazy and just wasting money I didn’t have. I am in nursing school, so money isn’t easy for me either right now. However, I saw the benefits and possible potential of it helping me without the use of medications, so I went for it (after a lot of research). Again, I like bargains and yes, Young Living is more of an investment – but you get what you pay for!

I started using the oils, making up some of my own lotions, rollerballs, and of course, diffusing it all the time. The first rollerball I made was with just olive oil and lemongrass essential oil. I heard it could help with my possible wrist issue, and wanted to try it out. Shockingly, it worked for me! I thought, if it worked for me, maybe it would help my Dad, too.

So, like a good daughter, I gave him mine to try out and see if it would work for any of his many aches and pains. Shockingly, it did!

He ended up buying that entire 15 mL bottle of Lemongrass from me, and I ended up making 6 rollerballs for him (with still some of the Lemongrass from that 15 mL bottle to spare). He is on his 2nd now I think. For future ones, I’ll be adding in Panaway, Valor, Peppermint, and of course the Lemongrass.

When I was at my first “Make and Take” party, we made up a pain cream. Again, it worked rather well for me, so I tried it out my Dad. Surprisingly, again, it worked for him, too! When that one runs out, I’ll make up another one.

For someone that started out as being super skeptical to it all, my Dad is now using the oils. He still needs to get some essential oils for some other issues, but he is on the oily journey with us all now, which I think is pretty cool.

My Thoughts

Framing Faith is a well written and detailed book that describes the author’s “disability” and how he learned how to focus, be in the moment, and overcome a “disability” that could have hindered his life in a huge way, but he persevered and is thriving because of it.

Most of us do need to slow down in our life and really see the moment we are in for what it is. This book helps us to do that and above all else, really see that these small moments in our lives do matter, and we need to appreciate them.

I enjoyed reading this book and think that everyone can benefit from reading it and applying what we learn in it to our lives. I highly recommend it.

My Thoughts

The Perfect Stranger is a well written novel that has interesting characters, and a plot that is unique and kept me wanting more. Online communities are often an escape from our “real life” worlds where we can share more than we normally would with people we do not know in real life. We listen to their stories, and feel like we are truly connected with these people. However, what happens when one of these online friends is murdered, and one of those other “friends” could very well have been the person who killed them? This is a plot which we could all probably relate to in some way, which makes it that terrifying and suspenseful.

Overall, I really liked reading this book. It is a great storyline with characters who are well formed and interesting to read. I highly recommend it!

My Thoughts

How to Pick Up a Stripper and Other Acts of Kindness is a book that I really enjoyed reading because it shows that there are ministries out there that are truly helping people that most of society doesn’t want to talk about or try to help.

This book doesn’t just focus on strippers though, it is also helping the homeless, children with disabilities, and much more. The overall message is that we can all be better servants and people in general, if we slow down our pace, and listen to people who we encounter with respect and love – not matter what we may originally perceive them to be.

Overall, I think that this book is an excellent example of how to be a better Christian and/or person. I definitely recommend it.
