What a few weeks this has been for me! Sorry I didn’t update this lovelist sooner. School is kicking my @$$. Speaking of…
College
My psychology course is over. I have a 104 average. I’m pretty happy about it. The teacher was awesome and even let us have some extra credit chances (which I always take advantage of, no matter how hard/easy it is).
Anatomy and Physiology is not as easy. I have a solid B. My A average is pretty much unreachable after these last two exams (killer hard) unless I pull a 100+ on this final, which I honestly do not see happening. However, a 87-89 average in this course is really good. Hopefully I do just as well next semester in A&P II.
Writing
Between school work and other various things, I’ve also been really busy reading. I love to do book, video games, beauty products, and any review really. So, I’ve been busy doing those if you hadn’t noticed. I’m also working on a few more beauty best-of articles for Associated Content. Have any ideas for organic products I should try that I haven’t reviewed already?
I’ve been trying to write more often for Bright Hub, and lately I’ve been published with these articles about The Sims 3:
I have to say that I love writing for their Gaming channel because it allows me to play video games and write (two of my loves) and get paid for it. So, please check out those articles.
Awards
I’ve been bad at posting awards won. I love to get them, so please don’t stop awarding me with them. I’ll try to be a better blogger and post them sooner.
Here are some of the ones I’ve been awarded with lately from Carina and Little Tiara. Thanks so much!
Fake Fashion Show
I guess I will start with last weekend. If you follow me on Twitter, perhaps you noticed I won tickets to a fashion show in Atlanta, GA last Saturday. I won them from our local ABC station.
It was at a very nice hotel in Atlanta, on a roof-top lounge. Ever watch The Bachelor? (I hate that show) The lounge looked like a place they’d go on one of their group dates. So the big draw to get people there I guess was saying it was a fashion show for one of the guys from Project Runway.
Well, the event, called “Cocktails & Couture” was supposed to be from 7-9pm. We waited around and finally the guy shows up at like 8:45 and he gets some award from the hotel or something and then takes pictures with the mob of people around him. No fashion show. So, we left.
Really disappointing, but we still had fun people watching, having some drinks and some free fancy/expensive food that I would never buy otherwise (most was not very good).
I would post a picture, but the angles the couches are at, the bad lighting, etc makes for really lousy pictures apparently and most didn’t turn out at all.
Overall, it was a major fail.
School
I’ve gotten a few questions about how I did in school for Spring semester. I thought I posted about it (or maybe I just tweeted it). Anyways, I ended up making an A in Psychology and a B in Biology. :) I’m pretty happy about it. Of course I would have loved to have gotten both As, but I will take the B (that teacher was crazy hard).
Feng Shui
I’m usually a really organized person. However, the past few months/year I’ve let things slide a bit more than I normally would have. I’ve been reading a Feng Shui book (will do review soon) and have completely reorganized my closets. I found stuff in there I completely forgot I had, and really it is like shopping for free! Love it!
Also will be working on the rest of my room and the house. Major undertaking.
Awards Lucy – Thank you so much for giving me these awards! I love getting awards and try posting them on here when I get them, even if I don’t end up doing all the rules and such (like today).
If you don’t already read and follow Lucy, I suggest all who are reading this go read her now – she is funny, very real and I think you’ll love reading all her posts too.
Thank you to the beautiful Lucy for awarding me with the Beautiful Blogger Award. If you haven’t already checked out (and followed) Lucy’s Life in Suburb World, you really should. She is a honest and funny blogger that I always read all of the posts she makes.
Here is how this Award Works!
1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2. Copy the award & place it on your blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4. Share 7 interesting things about yourself.
5. Nominate 7 additional Beautiful Bloggers.
7 Interesting Things About Me:
1. I used to be the editor/webmaster/writer (and more) for Foxy Girl Magazine. It was an online magazine I started in college. It was pretty successful too.
2. I love to read. You probably already knew this about me though from all of the book reviews I do on here.
3. I have a thing for vampires. Edward Cullen, Eric Northman, Lestat, the hot brothers from The Vampire Diaries, Angel, etc. Sexy, Mysterious, Dangerous… ah! Love with a bite.
4. I want to travel the world.
5. I have slight OCD. I have to have all of my DVDs, CDs (when those were out), books, etc. In alphabetical order. Well, books I do more by genre and height though. I try to keep my closets in order, but they are really small and cramped.
6. I love British English accents.
7. I used to be obsessed with mafia movies. I still love them, but not so obsessed anymore.
Thank you so much to Yaya who gave me the Sugar Doll Award!
And now to list 10 things about myself: 1. I’m going back to school to become a Registered Nurse. 2. I want to be a traveling nurse because that gets my love of traveling in there. 3. I also hope to be a travel writer. Hey, why couldn’t I do both? 4. I’d much rather be too cold than too hot. 5. I consider myself spiritual but not really “religious.” 6. My hair is getting absurdly long (goes to bottom of some shirts in the back) and I need a haircut badly. Any ideas? 7. I was scared of driving after a really bad car accident with a deer a few years ago. I still get flashbacks when I drive sometimes. Kind of makes it hard with my current job sometimes (pizza delivery). 8. I’m currently reviewing The Sims 3: World Adventures. Hopefully I’ll get this posted in a few days. I’m loving it! 9. My bookcases are getting too full. I should really spend a few hours cleaning it up and sorting the books better. 10. I love and appreciate all of my Blog friends and followers. You all keep me going in this thing called blog world. Thank you for everything!
Thanks to Wendy, I got this fabulous award! Thanks Wendy! Your Blog is absolutely fabulous too!
The rules are to list 5 things I’m currently obsessed with right now and then share this fabulous award with 5 bloggers. So, here you go!
Obsession #1 – True Blood
Ah True Blood! In case you hadn’t noticed, I love True Blood so much that I do a commentary on each episode on here. I love it! As I’ve said many times, I can’t wait for Eric and Sookie to be together in the series too. For now though I am just happy he is in so many scenes this season as compared to last! So hot. I also love the books that were the basis for the TV series too.
Obsession #2 – Twilight
Twilight obsession? Yeah, I have it along with almost every other girl/woman on the planet. I love the books and the movie and future movies I haven’t seen yet and the merchandise. Twilight is like our personal brand of heroin where Edward is always the one giving it to us.
I never knew when a good time to post this picture I found awhile ago would be. So, I figure now is a good time…. laugh, but you know it is true!
Obsession #3 – Vampires in general
Who am I kidding? That’s right, nobody! You all know I love vampires. True Blood vampires, Twilight vampires, Anne Rice’s vampires (I really want to get those books), I can’t wait until the CW’s Vampire Diaries comes out in the fall because hello – new subobsession right there too!
Obsession #4 – Harry Potter
Yes, I love Harry Potter too. I love the books and the movies and some of the merchandise even. I went and saw the movie today – finally! I’ve wanted to see it since it came out but didn’t have a chance to do so. I loved it. My favorite is still Goblet of Fire, but Half Blood Prince is quite good too. It makes me want to re-read all of the books again.
Obsession #5 – English Accents
Seriously. I think English/British accents have ruined it for me with American guys. Plus, I love England. So what if I’ve never actually been there? I know I’m going to go one day (hopefully soon) and fall madly in love with a handsome guy with an amazing English accent and we’ll live happily ever after. Hey, a girl can dream right?
Thank you so much to Bibi who has given me The Adorable Blog Award! Bibi was one of my first readers of my Blog and she is really one of the sweetest people I know in the Blog world – please go show her some love!

The past few weeks I’ve gotten a few awards and I’ve been hit with a fun tag too. I’ll do the tag tomorrow I hope.

Now I guess this is the part for I have to list 5 sexy things about myself:
1. My eyes. They are a sexy shade of green. 2. I have curves. 3. I’m fashionable. 4. I’m “weird” but totally okay with that. 5. Because I’m Sheri.

Bibi at http://bibihasthelastword.blogspot.com/ has awarded me with 2 very special awards. Thank you so much! Bibi has been one of my blogger friends for a few months and is really a great person. I encourage you all to go check out her blog too! Thanks again Bibi!
“These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”
This award acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in his/her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary and personal values every day.
The rules to follow are:
1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person that has granted the award and his or her blog link.
2) Pass the award to another 15 blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgment. Remember to contact each of them to let them know they have been chosen for this award.
Since I am giving out two awards, I am going to give them to everyone listed below and anyone who reads this can pick it up too. Yeah, I'm not following the "rules" on the awards. I'm a rebel. (Did anyone else just hear Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell" in their head just now?)
Award shows have always been a big event night for me. When I was a teenager I would even get dressed up and watch them. I watched not only to cheer on my favorite actors/actresses and the fashion they wore. I also watched for the dream. My dream of one day walking down the red carpet, being nominated for an award - and then winning it of course. I still have this dream, and one day perhaps it will even come true. Until then, I will Blog about it. I hope you enjoy my commentary and recap of the Oscars this year.
I watched the E! Live show and was most excited to see Robert Pattinson (surprise surprise)! He is in a tux with a bow tie and just looked amazing and was his usual adorable self. You can view the interview here. Second best to seeing him, was viewing the dresses before the show. I loved most of them, but some were just amazingly bad. Look towards the bottom of this post for my recap of the fashions.
*Oh and that picture is of me from prom photoshopped into my dream vision as best as I could get it. I’d rather be wearing a Valentino dress and actually be standing next to the real Robert Pattinson though.
The Show
The 81st Annual Academy Awards was hosted by Hugh Jackman. He came out singing about all the songs and then dancing. He was in theater, so he was quite good and maintained his sexy vibe still. He did start laughing during “The Reader” bit though. Overall I think he did a good job hosting the show.
Past actresses that have won in a supporting role presented the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. The Oscar went to Penelope Cruz for her performance in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.” She was my pick to win in this category. Her gown was beautiful! She was very gracious and a bit surprised that she won I think.
Tina Fey and Steve Martin presented the award for Best Original Screenplay with a great comedic intro. I quite liked it because I too am a writer. They read the screenplay for the short clips of the nominees as they showed the clip. The Oscar went to Dustin Lance Black for “Milk.” His speech was nice and he gave hope to gay rights. I haven’t seen this movie, but congratulations!
They then presented the award for Adapted Screenplay. The Oscar went to Simon Beaufoy for “Slumdog Millionaire.” I still haven’t seen this movie, I really need to since it is winning all these awards.
Jennifer Anniston and Jack Black presented for Best Animated Feature. Jennifer Anniston’s dress was great. The Oscar went to Wall-E. I haven’t seen this either, was it good? I guess it was if it won. They then presented for Animated Short Film. The Oscar went to “La Maison En Petits Cubes.”
Sarah Jessica Parker and Daniel Craig presented for Art Direction. SJP looked absolutely fabulous and very Sex and the City. The Oscar went to “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” Congratulations!
They then presented for Best Costume Design. The Oscar went to “The Duchess.” It was my choice for this category as well, so congratulations! Your work on this film was really spectacular. Not wanting to let SJP and the other guy off camera yet, they also presented the award for Best Makeup. The Oscar went to “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” Great work on this film, congratulations! I really need to see this movie ASAP.
Robert Pattinson and Amanda Seyfried presented for... well nothing. I was hardly paying attention to the show at this point. Robert looked all brooding and terribly nervous. How is that so hot? He presented (if you want to call it that) for what other category than romance? They even showed him in a few Twilight clips - and a bunch of other clips from other movies. There was no award given though. I guess they just wanted to show hot romance clips from movies this year. If it got him up on that stage though, I don’t mind!
Natalie Portman and Ben Stiller (with a very awful fake beard and messed up hair pretending to be Joaquin Phoenix) presented for Cinematography. It was hilarious! He even said he “wanted to retire from being the funny guy.” He was all aloof and walking away from Natalie as she was going over the script. LOL It was great. The Oscar went to “Slumdog Millionaire.”
Jessica Biel then came out in her awful dress to talk about digital animation and CGI.
Three guys came out to present for Best Live Action Short Film. The Oscar went to “Spielzeugland.” Seth laughed after the name was said. Yeah, I haven’t seen it either.
Hugh Jackman came out to do a little more singing and dancing with other guys in top hats and black tuxedos and canes. Beyonce then appeared and was singing in a red showgirl costume with a black top hat with other girls in showgirl-like tuxedos. They sang a song from “Grease” and a few other song clips. It was cute. Then for “Lady Marmelode” Amanda Seyfried and her co-star in “Mamma Mia” came out to sing and dance too. Of course Zac Effron and Vanessa Hudgens were also out there with them. They gave a great tribute to musicals. I liked it.
Past winners for Best Actors in a Supporting Role presented the winner for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. The Oscar went to Heath Ledger for his work in “The Dark Knight.” I really wanted him to win, and am very happy that he did. His family accepted the award on his behalf. The acceptance was very emotional and the celebrities they showed in the audience were almost in tears. Very moving. Congratulations Heath, wherever you are.
Bill Mahr presented the award for Best Documentary. The Oscar went to “Man on Wire.” The Oscar for Best Documentary Short Film went to “Smile Pinki.” I’ve never seen either of these documentaries.
Will Smith presented for Visual Effects. The Oscar went to “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” Personally, I think “The Dark Knight” should have won for it. He then presented again for Sound Editing. The Oscar went to “The Dark Knight.” It was my pick yet again, congratulations! The Oscar for Sound Mixing went to “Slumdog Millionaire.” Will Smith also presented the award for Film Editing. The Oscar went to “Slumdog Millionaire.” Popular film tonight.
Eddie Murphy presented the award for the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award to Jerry Lewis. It is well deserved, congratulations!
Zac Effron and Alicia Keys presented for Original Score. The Oscar went to “Slumdog Millionaire.” Congratulations, again. They then introduced/presented the singers and dancers for Best Original Song. The Baliwood singers and dancers came out from “Slumdog Millionaire.” With how much they won tonight, it was nice to see something from this movie I have yet to see. The Oscar went to “Slumdog Millionaire” for their “Jai Ho” song. Not a big surprise here was it?
The Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film went to “Departures” which is a Japanese film. Congratulations!
Queen Latifah then came out to pay respect to those entertainers who have passed in the industry. She sang and looked quite fabulous. I’m sure there were quite a few tears rolling down beautiful faces in the crowd.
Reese Witherspoon presented the award for Best Directing and she looked fabulous. The Oscar went to Danny Boyle for “Slumdog Millionaire.” Congratulations.
Previous actresses that have won as Best Actress in a Leading Role presented the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for this year. They said very nice and encouraging words for the nominees that almost moved them all to tears. The Oscar went to Kate Winslet for “The Reader.” Her acceptance speech was genuine and gracious. She was my pick to win. This has been such a great year for her and she really deserves it. Congratulations!
Previous actors that have won as Best Actors in a Leading Role presented the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for this year. They too said admiring words to the nominees. Did anybody else notice Robert Pattinson was sitting behind Mickey Rourke? The Oscar went to Sean Penn for “Milk.” I thought Brad Pitt was going to win, but congratulations nevertheless. Sean is an amazing actor too, and he deserves an Oscar too!
The very talented Stephen Spielberg presented the last (and best) award of the night: Best Motion Picture. The Oscar went to “Slumdog Millionaire.” Congratulations, yet again. I really wanted any movie but that one to win because it already won so many.
