Oprah’s Major Fail – Continued

As I mentioned in a previous post, Oprah’s 10th Anniversary magazine and the failure it had (with me at least), I was quite excited to see an e-mail sitting in my inbox from an Editorial Intern from Oprah’s magazine.

Here is what it said…

Thank you so much for your readership. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced regarding the $10 Deals featured in the May 2010 Anniversary issue. As stated in the magazine, the deals were offered "as supplies last" and due to the steep discounts many of these vendors provided there was a limited stock. Many of the items sold out within a few hours. There are some vendors restocking supply, and others that still have products in stock, so please continue to check out the deals featured. However, some of the vendors are not able to restock the product at all and in other cases they cannot continue to sell the item at the $10 price. Please understand that due to our large readership the vendors could simply not accommodate every reader. We hope you continue to enjoy the fashion and accessories featured in the magazine.

Sincerely,
The Editors

Pretty backwards non-apology if you ask me. I responded letting them know that I don’t accept the apology and quite honestly no longer even want to read my Oprah magazines (I will be checking into getting them canceled actually). I also stated I will be telling others about this experience offline and online – which I am.

I still wonder if Oprah actually knows about any of this going on. IF she does, I lost all respect for her. IF she doesn’t, she needs to seriously see what is actually going on with her “name brand” because it is not leaving a good impression.

I doubt she deals with the minor details like this. She probably has no idea.

If she does know, she isn't very concerned with it,is she? Sorry for your disappointment.

I tried buying the purse (also just got the mag) and none were available! Not cool if you ask me either! You'd think that someone who gave away free cars and millions of other things wouldn't let this go on! I doubt she knows.

Love those non-apologies! "We are sorry but......we did nothing wrong & don't regret anything we did & will probably do it again very soon." Ha!

I'm sure she doesn't know anything about it. I stopped reading O a couple of years ago and don't watch her show anymore either. Shhhh! Don't tell anyone I don't drink the Oprah Kool Aid.

that sucks! they should have at least offered you something free or a REAL aplogy!!

I doubt she cares about these "trivial details"! Ugh Oprah.

They should totally be able to supply this stuff if it is withing the first like 2 weeks a mag is out!

I agree with Kristina. Oprah's way too up there to even know this stuff. It's too bad.

That is terrible! I bet that e-mail was copy and pasted to you and others too!

I love Oprah, and I don't think she has any idea that this scam is going on with her magazine. We all like to get a great deal and this is a chance for those of us to score a product that is out of reach for our budgets. It sounds like they are waving a carrot over our heads, just to get our attention with NO intention of giving anything up.So I say to Oprah what's up with this?? Deal or no Deal??

I like Oprah and have been watching her show since the beginning. I hope she doesn't know what is going on with this, or I too lose all respect for this woman.

I would write to to Oprah company that is absolutely ridiculous. I am actually canceling my subscription as well. What a disappointment.

I was disappointed as well as one of the items would have been the perfect gift for my mother-in-law. Their 'while supplies last' email was a bunch of bullocks as I logged online within 1 hour of receiving my magazine. Wonder if this was an issue for the folks living in Chicago...

For someone as rich as she is she should have given one of the $10 deals away to each of her subscribers for free!
