Just about everyone needs a little help or direction when it comes to being better organized – even me, and I claim to be generally quite organized.

A to Z Storage Solutions by Donna Smallin is the perfect reference book with 500 tips on how to store every item in your home. Smallin is “America’s Best-Selling Organizing Expert” and these tips really prove that.

A to Z Storage Solutions is written with any item you can think about in your house in alphabetical order - that way you can easily find what you are looking to store in an organized manner. Can’t find it fast? Easy, just look in the index at the back.

One of my favorite parts about the book is that it has fun quotes featured throughout. From the fun - “Organized people are just too lazy to look for things.” – Bertrand Russell. To the frameable – “That which we elect to surround ourselves with becomes the museum of our soul and the archive of our experiences.” – Thomas Jefferson.

When I had a whole apartment to myself, I had everything perfectly organized. However, being crammed into just a room now makes being organized a bit trickier. I still try to stay organized, but it is much harder with the lack of space. Smallin made me see the realization though that it is more about lack of real organization that is my problem. If I really organized everything and got rid of the clutter I don’t really need – I’d be perfectly organized like how I want to be.

The storage solution ideas offered are great for those who don’t want to spend much money (or any) on storing/organizing their items. Smallin suggests fun ideas to use with egg cartons and shoe boxes, or what to store even inside bookcases (if your bookcases aren’t already filled with books).

I recommend this book to everyone. Honestly, it is a must have for everyone because we all need help in some manner on how to better organize our homes and our lives.
