Did you know there was a new Robin Hood movie coming out featuring Russell Crowe as Robin Hood? I didn’t - until I saw this article First look: New Robin Hood on point with 'Gladiator'.
“Sporting a Caesar haircut and slimmed-down physique, Crowe shed the weight he gained for his portly characters in State of Play and Body of Lies. He also updated the bandit's wardrobe.
"He doesn't have the old Robin Hood tights," says producer Brian Grazer. "He's got armor. He's very medieval. He looks, if anything, more like he did in Gladiator than anything we're used to seeing with Robin Hood."
"Oddly, it's a metaphor for today," Grazer says. "He's trying to create equality in a world where there are a lot of injustices. He's a crusader for the people, trying to reclaim some of the ill-gotten gains of the wealthy. That's a universal theme."
Not that the film will linger on the contemporary. "We just shot a scene where Maid Marion fires a flaming bow and arrow into the night sky. It's just a cool story."
I’m excited to see a new version of Robin Hood. I loved the Robin Hood: Men In Tights comedy and of course the one with Kevin Costner. However, I think this one is going to be much better. The costumes, actors, and special effects will be better (in theory). We shall see. What do you think?

Russel Crowe as Robin hood? Not so sure about that...we shall see.
I'm not that convinced to have him as robin hood, he's great but kinda lacks that charming robin hood flavor, if that even makes sense to you.

This will be awesome. Robin Hood as he was meant to be: sullen and gloomy. And with lots of decapitations.
Robin Hood is such a great story. I can't wait to see this movie.
And how 'bout Russell Crowe? He looks great, even if he is kind of a wierdo...
I wonder if he'll be able to pull it off. Personally I would love to see Robert Downey Jr. in that role.
I had no idea! But I think I'm going to like it.
Not a big Russell Crowe fan. Not as a man but as an actor. He isn't bad, just don't jive with him. I did hear that he has had a diva attitude about some set issues.

He got really, really, really, really tubby at one point. Which is NOT cute in tights.
I am still itching to see the BBC series, HOOD. It looked so good. Russel Crowe as Robin Hood though? I'll pass this time around. :)
