Beyond Angry

I’m a writer and I can’t even seem to find the words to express what I feel right now. Angry. That doesn’t quite fit. I’m beyond angry, furious, heated, annoyed, irritated.

What is past that when you are so upset that even punching a punching bag probably wouldn’t help? I wish I had my punching bag setup right now, I’d punch the hell out of it.

I’m usually pretty mellow – until you get me pissed. In which case, consider yourself on my shitlist. Oh yeah, and don’t expect to be taken off – ever.

So, what has me so angry right now?

Well, yesterday I get something in the mail from my bank saying that I’m getting a substitute check or something because my PAYCHECK was “Returned Due To Insufficient Funds.” Oh, and of course they charge me a fee for this too.

Seriously.

I don’t deliver pizza for free. I don’t know anybody who works for free, so I have the right to be angry and bitchy about this.

Luckily I didn’t mail out a bill that could have made MY checking account then start bouncing checks due to THEIR error. Then I’d have more fees from my bank, credit cards, and then higher interest rate and lower credit score!

Where is that punching bag? I need it!

So yesterday after I received this in the mail, I called up the store I work at. I get the number for the supervisor and let him know what was going on. He assured me that the owner of the franchise would call me back last night. Did she? NO.

I woke up at 5:30AM angry. So angry I couldn’t even fall back asleep. I didn’t have to be up until 7AM. I like my sleep. Waking up ANGRY is not a good way to start the day.

After I got there, I called the owner. She apologized, rudely. Gave excuses and actually compared it to things happening and unexpected things happen like people don’t expect to walk into a building and a bomb going off. SERIOUSLY? You can’t compare the two!!! Is she trying to tell me something? Should I be scared of going in to work? She did agree to pay the bank fee and assured me that the money would be able to be taken out today for that check and the new paycheck.

I shouldn’t have to worry about a paycheck being returned to me for insufficient funding on their end. I don’t want to hear excuses about transfers not going through or anything else really.

When the paychecks came today (it is payday), I checked my envelope to see if the bank fee was included (as it was supposed to be). It wasn’t. Naturally then I went to the girl (the owner’s assistant and also daughter) to explain that it wasn’t there and the situation. She then gets all bitchy and rude with ME saying how I was being so rude to her (I wasn’t). Then she says that she is the owner’s daughter, and I reply with, “that’s nice.” Then she actually threatens me and says, “well, I do payroll now and you don’t want to get on my bad side.” Oh and she is going to call mommy to say how rude I am.

Punching bag would be off the chain by now.

So, I call the owner and ask why the money wasn’t in there and told her that her daughter threatened me and was actually much more rude to me than I was to her. She says “the whole situations is like whatever now.” SERIOUSLY? She says to get the money from the store from the supervisor who will be there later. Hmm okay. Oh, and she hung up on me. Real professional lady. No wonder your company isn’t doing so well.

Oh also, this apparently is NOT the first time they’ve had their paychecks bounced for their employees.

I need a different job ASAP. This stress is not something I should have to deal with at work. NO WAY.

Any comments thoughts, suggestions, similar stories, etc. I’d love to hear it.

Look for a new job ASAP. My husband had this happen. He worked at a care center and their checks started bouncing. They went bankrupt.

I can't believe the nerves of that woman to threaten you, and the response of her mother. It's their mistake, you have the right to be annoyed and speak in particular tone if they don't do their jobs right.

Oh, sweetie. That's horrible! I hate rude people with a passion and I understand how you feel. As for waking up angry? I agree that it's the worst possible way to start a day.

Sending you loads of positive energy from this side of the world *hugs* ^___^

Hey there, I was just blogwalking when I stumbled upon your blog.

You are right, YOU NEED A NEW JOB NOW. I hate it when employers don't treat their workers right! I'm sure there are other companies out there that are worth it! I hope you feel better soon!

You really need to find a new job, the last thing you want is to do a weeks work and find out they went bankrupt and you won't be paid! And they sound like JERKS!

I would def look for a new job. You should never ever be disrespected by an employer ever, especially like that!!! And I cannot believe a company cannot even handle their payrolly suffiecently!

I would def call your local labor board and report them. Hopefully they'll close or get into something kinda trouble!

Oh, goodness you need to start looking for a new job. All companies have moments of short cash flow BUT payroll should ALWAYS be met and if not then employees should be informed not bounce their checks that is unprofessional and then to give you attitude. Once payroll cannot be met and they are bouncing payroll checks you need to RUN and run fast. We always, and I mean ALWAYS makesure payroll is MET. That is the first concern every month. Period!

Thanks to everyone who posted words of support and encouragement to quit that job. I did quit on Saturday, going to make a post about that tomorrow probably. :)
