Redbox – Any of you use it?

We just cancelled our NetFlix subscription and are now getting HBO and Showtime instead. I miss seeing new releases though. So, when I was at Wal-Mart the other day, I saw one of these RedBox things claiming that movies were only $1 a night. Looks pretty easy and simple – is it? If you have used this service, let me know your thoughts on it please!

*We live at least 45 minutes away from a location of one of these, so I wouldn’t use it that often, but just curious in case I ever wanted to. Thanks!

I've used it once, and it's pretty easy!

My mom has been talking about canceling our netflix.
I don't like Redbox. When I look at their movie list, most of them are not newer releases.

We have used redbox once in awhile. We had netflix, but then got HBO for a year free so we cancelled netflix, and we just go to redbox when there is something that I have to see or the kids want a special movie.

We like it. And each week there is a code put out to get a free movie. You can check this blog for the codes, she does a great job keeping track of them. http://www.commonsensewithmoney.com/2009/04/free-movie-rental-at-redbox-locations-427-only/

I have used Redbox before, and it is great if you will only watch the movie once or twice.

The only downside is most of the new release movies are unavailable, but overall, their service is great.

I highly recommend it:).

Seems like all the movies I want are always gone. Not to mention t he box was under maintenance for three days that I was charged for because I could not turn the stupid dvd back in.

:D We use Redbox every Monday. There are quite a few in any direction we travel around here, so they're easy to get to.

Anyway, we tried it out this past winter on a whim, and love it. The pickings are very slim, so we only use it on FREE MOVIE MONDAYS! You can sign up with them to get a text to your phone every Monday, and they'll give you a code for a free movie. As long as you return it before 9 PM on Tuesday, you're free and clear. We haven't paid to watch a movie in months. ;)

It's easy, they are $1 plus tax and are due by 9pm the next day. If you keep them, it just charges you for another extra day and so on. By like 1:30 am Monday night/Tuesday morning, you can pre-rent on their website and make sure you get the movies you want. Sure they do not get ALL movies, but the biggest blockbusters sure. But I live 5 minutes from 2 so it is easier for returning.

We have not tried Redbox but have a friend that does. I have never heard her complain. We have all of the movie channels. Plus we usually just buy our movies from Columbia House.

I use it all the time. Its easy. The biggest problem for me it getting it back in the time allotted (its laziness really). Other than that..its GREAT. You can even get promotions sent to you via text and/or email that give you free rentals.

I've used redbox before. Like a lot of the people on here..the newer ones usually do go first..but their selection keeps getting bigger and bigger.

I totally would recommend it.
