Robert Pattinson's New Girlfriend?

Look what I found over at Robert Pattinson... Who? It seems Robert Pattinson and Nikki Reed have been seen out together and it has been reported Nikki even slept over at Rob's this weekend.

If they are really together, I think it is great. Obviously Rob and I can't be together (yet). LOL Nikki seems like a good match for him to be with (for now anyways). Yes, I'm totally delusional about me and Rob's future love affair as is everyone infatuated with him, so what? :P

Have a happy Twilight day!

Justin Timberlake on SNL – Single Ladies Parody

So, I saw the sketch first on Oprah briefly (I don't usually watch SNL so I was a bit late seeing this okay?) and I just had to find it. However, I can’t find the whole thing! The best I could get was this from youtube.com. Apparently the whole version is on the NBC website somewhere. I just don’t have the motivation to search through all those back pages of SNL. Anyone else know where to find it?

Thanks so much to Bibi who has awarded me with the Sisterhood Award! Sorry it took me so long to post it.

Flashback Friday – Boy Bands

Ah – the 90s were such a sweet time for the Boy Bands, wasn’t it? We had New Kids on the Block, The Backstreet Boys, N*Sync, Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees, LFO, Take 5, O-Town, and others I forgot the names of. I did buy those issues of BOP and BIG BOPPER for the posters and taped them on my walls like wallpaper. Ahh the memories.

I absolutely loved New Kids on the Block when they were popular. I had the cassettes (CDs weren’t out then), a nightgown, a sleeping bag, pins, posters, shirts, folders, etc. I was still in elementary school then, so it wasn’t quite as geeky as it sounds (okay, maybe it is still even then but whatever). I am however not fond of them anymore, and their “comeback” isn’t something I praise or want to listen to. Sorry NKOTB!

My next obsession was The Backstreet Boys. Oh how cute they were! I remember watching their videos on MTV. I even remember when I first saw “Quit Playing Games With My Heart.” I saw them in concert at a tornado relief fund in Orlando outside of the Hard Rock CafĂ© area at Universal Studios. I was with a few friends and we were by the side part where the other singers hung out with the fans. BSB were just too cool for us. Brian and Howie came over for about 30 secs to sign one autograph for a photo op. That ruined them for me (at least personality wise). However, guess who else was at this concert? N*Sync!!!

N*Sync became my next obsession (and final). They only released their first single of “I Want You Back” maybe a week before the first concert I saw with them, and I brought it with me (in hopes of getting it signed). Guess what? I totally did! JC was amazed someone was actually there with it I think and he signed it and talked to me and my friends for at least 10 minutes. He was sweet and gave us hugs. I saw N*Sync a few years later with my best friend and my mom (she liked it too though). I saw Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera a few years later (I won tickets actually and had really great seats woot). N*Sync was by far my favorite boy band. They had the best songs and had the cutest guys which is really all that matters, right?

Did you like the boy bands too? Did the boy bands craze take over your pre-teen and teen life? Tell me about your memories of this too!

* I hope these videos stay up, sometimes they get turned off and I have to go back and try to find them again elsewhere (talk about annoying).

True Blood - Good Fan Video

While I was bored and still very awake (it is midnight) I found myself browsing the HBO: True Blood website. Another cool thing I found on there is they have a wiki and forum area too. I might join it. Anyways, while reading some threads I came across this fan-made video. It is really quite good and features Nelly Furtado's Maneater song (which I also love).

I've also been planning on getting my hair cut. It is really long right now - too long. It is like over 2 ft long. If it was strong and all I think I'd probably keep it this length, but it isn't. It gets all split-ended and then I pick at it (annoying habit). So, I'm thinking about getting my hair cut like Anna Paquin's shown here. These were the best pics I could find. What do you guys think?

Quiznos Using Sex To Sell Subs…

Take a look at this commercial I just saw on TV and tell me what you think. It is featuring Quiznos Toasty Torpedo sandwiches.

I think it is funny. It is better than that weird rat thing they used to have in commercials anyways. Plus, $4 for a sub is a great deal! Anyways, what are your thoughts?

Hate Junk Mail? So Do I!

I found this article, Turning The Tables On Junk Mailers. It is really quite great, so I am sharing it with all of you. Enjoy!

If you have one credit card, you probably get tons of offers for more in the mail. I sure do. Who needs all that junk? It's a waste of paper and time sorting through it all.

Green living guru Danny Seo has a wicked little idea for disposing of those unwanted missives.

Open up the offer and take out the postage-paid envelope. Take all the junk the credit card company sent you, and stuff it into that return-to-sender envelope. Pop it back into the mail. The company paid that postage, so it's paying to receive its own garbage back!

Maybe if enough people did this, credit card companies would think twice about spamming us with endless offers for cards we don't need.

Of course, you can also try to get off the lists in the first place.
Four of the major consumer credit reporting companies who are part of the offer-generating process have a free opt-out service. Register with that site, and in a few months, you'll see a decrease in your credit-card junk mail.

I signed up early this year, and I do receive fewer offers. But they're not completely eliminated by any means. So I'll be returning some letters to sender from now on.

Sheri’s World Domination

I installed Google Analytics back in December. It is an interesting way to see where people are from that visit my site and how they get there.

People from 69 countries have visited my Blog. That is really cool! Top countries were: United States, Indonesia, Australia and United Kingdom.

I’m also only missing 2 states out of all of the United States that have visited my Blog: Wyoming and Alaska. Come on people from there visit my Blog!

Another fun thing Google Analytics can show you is the keywords people use to find your website. Here are the top 10 searches people used to find Sheri’s World:

1. Robert Pattinson
2. Joaquin Phoenix Letterman
3. Tokidoki Christmas
4. Sheri’s World
5. Twilight Soundtrack
6. “Sheri likes to”
7. Lady painted car with nail polish
8. Noccalula Falls
9. The Bachelor
10. Rihanna and Chris Brown

Scrolling down the long list I also came across some very odd things people typed in and found my Blog. Here are my top 10 weird ones (and some commentary by me):

1. Rihanna with an eye patch – must have been from my AMA Awards post.
2. Shaiya nude mode – I did a review of Shaiya, but no nude mode!
3. “Old Greg inspirational quotes” – LOL Old Greg… so weird.
4. Beautiful faces of celebs – from my Oscars review I think, but still weird to search for that phrase.
5. Does Robert Pattinson snore? – I would like to find out! Hey Rob, call me!
6. Lady Gaga nail polish – she has her own brand? I never knew!
7. Robert Pattinson sex talk – again, Rob call me!
8. Sheri nude – you perv! No nude pics of me!
9. Survivor Sheri – I’ve never been on Survivor, I don’t think I could handle that kind of camping!
10. Jason on The Bachelor Sucks – I so agree!

Sookie Stackhouse aka Southern Vampire Mysteries

As I posted recently, I would give a recap of my thoughts on this vampire series so far. Here is my experience with it, I hope you enjoy!

* Warning: Contains spoilers!

Dead Until DarkDead Until Dark, the first book in the series was really quite good. I liked it anyways. The main character Sookie Stackhouse is great but also kind of annoys me. She is a telepathic barmaid who is quite nice, though every human thinks she is a bit crazy. Also, much of the book seemed like I was reading another version of Twilight with more sex and Southern slang. I think this book was written first though. Maybe Stephanie Meyer read it and that is how she dreamt up Twilight. Regardless though, it is a good book. I really liked Vampire Bill. Plus, having vampires “out of the coffin” and legal was a fun twist to vampire stories. I read this book in a night.

Living Dead In DallasI started reading the second book, Living Dead in Dallas after a paranormal investigation. So, I only got in about an hour or so of reading. I finished the rest of it the following day. It was good but not really as good as the first. The most memorable thing that happens in this is the escape from being held captive at the Fellowship of the Sun headquarters there.

After this book, I decided to read the back covers of the rest of the books that came in the set. I regretted doing so. Why? Well, I found out Bill cheats on Sookie! Also, somehow she might end up with Eric (Bill’s boss and the sheriff of Area 5 in Louisiana)? Then her brother becomes a shape-shifter? Then she ends up with a shape-shifter? What is going on? Why can’t my vampire reading be satiated with her just ending up with Bill and her turning into a vampire and then they live happily ever after? Oh, right for that I guess I can just re-read Breaking Dawn (again).

Also, the bookset doesn’t have all of the books. Yeah when I bought the set I thought they were all there but it is missing one that is out now and one that comes out in May. Now that I’ve started reading it, I’ll have to buy those too. Damn my OCD and getting sucked into this series!

Club DeadClub Dead, the next book was actually pretty good. Club Dead is a vampire and supernatural beings bar (of course). She also ends up becoming close friends with a Were (as in werewolf). Bill is vampire-napped and being held prisoner in Mississippi and Sookie of course has to go to his rescue. Big drama with all of that, but it works out well. Why Sookie doesn’t just get over it and forgive Bill I don’t know. Also, Eric (Bill’s boss) really wants her bad too now. Such vampire drama! It is like a vampire soap opera. I love it! And Eric really doesn’t seem to be all that bad anymore.

Dead to the WorldDead to the World, next book in the series Bill leaves for Peru (oh and Sookie and him are not dating, she never forgave him for cheating on her) Then Sookie finds Eric running along a country road (by her house) with just jeans on and no memory. She ends up taking care of him and hiding him out at her house (for a fee of course). She ends up really falling for this new sensitive and helpless Eric. They have quite a good time together, oh and the sex was really good too. Witches are also in this book that is attacking the other supernatural beings and they end up having a big fight and call it the Witch War. It was sad when Eric became his regular self again though. Her brother is found (he was missing) thanks to Sookie and now he might be a Were-panther. I hate how she ends these books.

Dead as a DoornailDead As A Doornail, the next book… Shape-shifters and Werewolves and panthers and whatever else are in danger in this one. Sam, Sookie’s boss (also a shape shifter) gets shot so Eric loans out his new bartender vampire (who is a pirate) to the bar Sookie works at. Eric still doesn’t remember what happened between him and Sookie, though he does suspect things. Finally he finds out and isn’t really all that awful about it at all. She really should give him (and Bill) more credit.

Definitely DeadDefinitely Dead, the next book Sookie is still alone. Though she ends up dating Quinn, a Were-Tiger. Yeah. I want to see her with Eric or even Bill! Ugh! So frustrating! This book was slow to amount to much of anything. I was like “come on already” for anything interesting at all. Bill turns out not to be such a nice guy or er vampire afterall and he didn’t end up in her life out of the blue or er black. Quinn is nice and Eric saves the day with some other vampire that works for the Queen of Louisiana. Yeah. Oh and her cousin left her her things when she died for the second time, she was a vampire and was also the queen’s lover. Mmmhmm. The soap opera continues!

All Together DeadAll Together Dead the seventh book, and last book in my boxed set. Is about the big vampire summit for the southern vampires. It was actually my 2nd favorite book I read from the series so far (first being the first book). Sookie is dating Quinn, well sorta still. They don’t spend much time together. Eric is still after her and he really quite likes her but of course doesn’t know how to express himself. Then sometime while at the summit she has to exchange blood with him again (third time now) and now they are bound and more in tune with one another. Then the Fellowship of the Sun set off all these bombs in the hotel during the day to try to kill the vampires and the humans in the building they were staying in. Sookie and the other telepath Barry figure out it is happening right before it happens and manages to get most of the humans out and many of the vampires, but it is daytime! So, some die. Quinn even kills Andre (the bad vampire that is close to the Queen of Louisiana). Sookie saves Eric and Pam too, and she finds Bill in the rubble. Her main vampires just couldn’t die, ya know?

From Dead to WorseFrom Dead to Worse, the eighth book was quite boring in my opinion. Yes, I bought it (this series is addicting okay?). It focused way too much on recapping stuff that already happened. It also featured an immense amount of time explaining what Sookie does during daily tasks and mundane activities. Amelia, her friend now from New Orleans is staying with her. She is a witch. Sookie and Quinn end things because he can’t put her above his mom and sister. I completely agree with that move, especially since Eric is so hot for her, oh and Bill too. Speaking of Eric, his memories about their time together came flooding back to him when he was sitting on her bed. I just want to shake Sookie and have them end up together, but I guess that would make the books cut short and the author wants money. Oh, she meets her great-grandfather who is a fairy prince. There is also a takeover of the Louisiana area by the Las Vegas vampires. They end up okay though, pretty much.

Overall, I think the books are pretty good. It is worth the time to read and/or buy them. If you’re like me and skim over the parts we already know about you can have each book easily read in a few hours. They are all a fun read though. The world Charlaine Harris creates with this series is a great escape.

My biggest complaint about the series is that the author spends too much time re-stating things the reader already knows. I found this to be very annoying. A once-over on things that happened before in books is normal, but to keep bringing it up throughout the book gets old. It is like having to listen to someone say something to you ten times before they move on to something else only to bring it back up again in a few minutes.

The characters are all quite colorful and creative. I especially like the vampire Bubba. It is actually Elvis, but something went wrong when he became a vampire and can’t stand it when people call him Elvis. Pretty funny. I wonder if that character will be on True Blood.

I also really like the Sookie and Eric relationship. Eric is just a fun character to begin with. He is a very old vampire, so also very powerful. He was a Viking! So he is blonde, blue eyes, great body, great at oh everything. But somewhere through the years he forgot how to express himself properly. It makes a fun combo with Sookie. I really hope they end up together.

Dead and GoneThe next book, Dead and Gone comes out May 5, 2009. I’ll read it too when it comes out. Click here to read the first chapter from the book. From the synopsis it looks like the Weres and shape-shifters will be coming out of the closet too. There will also maybe be a war going on. I hope she gets some action with Eric, they do share that intense blood bond now and he is being really quite good (for a vampire with a lot of power) too. Why do I not like Bill anymore? Well, he is quite a tool and he did more to hurt Sookie than just cheat on her. He’d really have to do something grand to win her back now.

True Blood: Season 1The DVD set for True Blood comes out on May 19th. I’m going to buy that then as well. I’ve watched a few episodes when we still had HBO and I loved it and am hooked (especially now that I’ve read all the books that are out). I’m hoping we get HBO again in June when the 2nd season airs.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day

Are you wearing green today? If not, watch out or you’ll be pinched! I’m wearing my bright green Lucky Clover t-shirt. First time I’ve worn it even (I was saving it for today). I don’t have any big plans for today. I actually just got back from the hospital. I'd write more about the holiday, but I'm just too tired right now.

Sorry I haven’t been posting much recently, but I have been super busy. This weekend was busy and then Sunday night my brother went to the hospital with chest pains. So, I was there until he was admitted into a room and then he had another big test done today. Turns out he is okay for now, but he will need surgery in maybe 10 years. For now medicine will work, so that is good news.

Last night my nephews were over here (my brother who is in the hospital’s kids). We had dinner and watched scary movies. They are 9 and 10 yrs old. We watched Resident Evil and then Van Helsing. I think Resident Evil was a bit too scary for them though, but they watched it anyways.

Tonight I am going to try to write more to my book. I’ve tried a few times recently but haven’t had much luck. Writer’s block really sucks.

How are you spending St. Patrick’s day? Doing anything special? Drinking some green beer? Guiness?

Flashback Friday – Candy Land

I absolutely loved the game Candy Land when I was a kid. It was probably one of the first board games I ever played. I was really quite good at it too, though thinking back I think my Mom probably let me win 90% of the time.

I learned quite a bit about this game while writing this blog entry. I hope you all enjoy reading about it and perhaps remembering the game from when you were a kid too.

History of Candy Land

Once upon a time… in San Diego, California, a woman named Eleanor Abbott created a game. Recovering from polio herself, Mrs. Abbott decided to create an activity that would entertain children who were also affected with the disease. So she submitted her board game to MILTON BRADLEY, who enthusiastically accepted it, and in 1949 a new game called CANDY LAND was introduced.

The first CANDY LAND games were sold for only $1.00. The advertising said it fulfilled “the sweet tooth yearning of the younger set without the tummy ache aftereffects.”

“A sweet little game … for sweet little folks,” as its packaging proudly stated for almost 30 years, would soon become an enduring part of our collective childhood. The theme and its simple color matching play were a perfect fit for all-family play.

At the time, few could have comprehended just what an impact the game would have, both on the Springfield, Massachusetts game manufacturer and on generations of children. To date, its distinctive red-and-white peppermint name has been printed on well over 40 million games.

In a world filled with advanced technology and fads that are quick to fade, the sweet simplicity of this classic game keeps it continually popular, even after more than half a century.

My Questions For You:
1. What were your favorite board games as a kid?
2. Did you play Candy Land?
3. Did you like Candy Land?
4. If you have kids, or when you do, do you plan on getting them this game?

So Tired… Robert Pattinson on GQ doesn’t even wake me up

I had quite possibly worse sleep last night than if I hadn’t tried sleeping at all. My Mom was sick yesterday, so my Dad at some point before I went to sleep decided to go downstairs and sleep in his recliner in the living room. This happens to be below my bedroom. He snores. Loud. I mean really loud. I have no idea how my Mom ever gets any sleep at all. I guess she is used to it after all these years. Whoever I end up with better not snore loudly. That is something I just don’t think I could put up with.

For all the Robert Pattinson and Twilight fans look what I found today…

Yeah, it is yummy! I’m buying this when I see it on stands. Mmm. Check out the article at: He's Hot, He's Sexy, He's Undead

Vampire Skull Found!

Look what I found on Yahoo! News this morning. Their website has a video to go with it too! Check it out.

The remains of a medieval “vampire” were discovered in Venice, Italy among the corpses of 16th century plague. The body of the woman was found in a mass grave on the Venetian island of Lazzaretto Nuovo. Back then people suspected of being vampires shoved a large rock into the mouths of the dead to prevent them from chewing through the gravesite and infecting others from the plague, said anthropologist Matteo Borrini of the University of Florence.

How interesting!

They also link to an article about how they claim vampires can be “debunked” here. However, I completely do not agree with their logic. I also find it funny that the professor debunking it is from the university I graduated from. Anyways, Efthimiou's debunking logic: On Jan 1, 1600, the human population was 536,870,911. If the first vampire came into existence that day and bit one person a month, there would have been two vampires by Feb. 1, 1600. A month later there would have been four, and so on. In just two-and-a-half years the original human population would all have become vampires with nobody left to feed on.

I don’t know if vampires exist or not, I kinda hope they do. I’m weird I know. But if they did, I don’t think they would go around killing people every night and turning them into a vampire. It is more likely they just feed when they have to and they rarely turn others into vampires. If they are real, I also think that we probably have met some and didn’t even know it. What do you think?

Sookie Stackhouse + Long Update

I finally used my Wal-Mart gift card my brother gave me for Christmas. I used it online and bought the Sookie Stackhouse bookset. It ended up being the same price (when figuring in shipping) as amazon.com so I figured why not? I needed to use the card before it expired or was lost anyways. Plus, I’ve wanted to read this series for awhile now

It arrived today. Very quick shipping! I just ordered it like 2 nights ago and didn’t pay any extra for such fast shipping. Very nice. Usually amazon.com’s free shipping takes at least a week (sometimes 3 weeks).

I’ll post more about these books as I read them or after I’m done with the series. Have any of you read them? Did you like it? Do you watch True Blood on HBO? I only saw one episode of True Blood, but I liked it. I have it waiting in my NetFlix que for whenever they have the DVD set.

As you noticed, I have been changing the layout around here. I posted about it a few entries ago. I’ve also edited the right sidebar some and added to it. I’m also thinking about making a top area with links to things. Any suggestions?

Today I have my paranormal stuff to do. Sounds funny saying it like that. I have a meeting to go to and then we’re going on a residential investigation. That means I more than likely can’t say much about it. Next weekend we’re reviewing the material from Sloss Furnace. Fun fun! I hope we caught something good.

The picture I posted of my closet and part of my room really made me want to cleanup my closets and room. So, I cleaned it up yesterday while listening to Lady GaGa, The All American Rejects, Britney Spears, Metro Station, Justin Timberlake and TI, Coldplay and The Pussycat Dolls. Yeah, I have an odd assortment of music there and I love it! Should I grab one of those cool lil iPod things and add music to my blog? I’ve been thinking about it…

Anyways, I moved out all of my Collector Barbies and put them on the top shelves of the guest bedroom’s closet. Here are their pictures since they are going into the dark for a long time now and they wanted to say “Hello.” Really, they did. See them waving at you?

While cleaning it out I also came across my most expensive shoes. They are 2 couture pairs from Nicole Miller. I love them but I’ve never worn them outside the house. I know, I really should. I’m just scared I’m gonna ruin them or something and you all know how much those cost!

To clean out my closet I figured I really needed to take out everything that was hanging up and try it on if I haven’t worn it for awhile. If it didn’t fit right, I’d put it up on the top shelf. This seemed to work pretty well but took a long time. I ended up with quite a few things that are up on the top shelf now, but it just gives me that much more motivation to workout and eat better. Seeing that I have Armani and Dior up there really irks me.

Now I present to you my newly cleaned up closet.

Whew. So, that was how I spent most of my day yesterday. I wonder how many calories I burned trying on all those clothes and cleaning. It was only one of the closets too. I still have the other one, but it isn’t that bad. That is where my more dressy clothes are and all my coats and jackets and more shoes. Actually, it is pretty bad too but it is hard to open the door too far because of my computer desk. I’ll put that closet off for a few more days.

How are all of your weekends going? Doing anything fun and exciting? Tell me about it!

Flashback Friday – Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Remember the television series on Nickelodeon’s SNICK called Are You Afraid of the Dark? It was quite possibly one of my favorite series back when I was in elementary school. I loved SNICK. I will probably feature later Flashback Fridays on some of those other shows too. Remember that big orange couch? I saw it at Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando, FL on a field trip for school. We also saw an episode of Clarissa Explains it All being filmed, well behind glass for a part of it. It was awesome either way!

I’ve always loved scary stories, so this was my favorite show on SNICK. My bestfriend growing up hated it though because it was too scary. I’d always try to get her to watch it though when she slept over on Saturday night. LOL If nobody was over though, I’d usually watch it in my parent’s bedroom. It was way before TiVo and maybe I felt more comfortable watching it in there instead of my own room. Who knows?

I must confess though, I was scared of the dark for real for a long time. I slept with a night light. Yup. You heard it here.

So my questions for you:

Do you remember the series?
Did you like it?
Did it scare you?
Any favorite episodes?

Survivor: Tocantins

Survivor is back! This time they are in Tocantins (however you say that one). It is in Brazil. Can you believe it is the 18th season of Survivor? I remember when the first one was aired back in its truest form (or so I think anyways).

A few episodes have aired already, but you haven’t missed too much really. You can catch up online now even and watch the previous episodes for free on their website. It airs on Thursdays on CBS at 8pm ET.

I don’t have any favorites quite yet. It is too soon to tell really who I like or not. Do you guys have any favorites if you are watching it?

I’m also not too sure about the cross-tribe-alliance that is going on. It could be genius or it could go terribly wrong. Either way, Exile Island isn’t looking too bad anymore.

Is it just me or do these people already look sickly thin? They need to cast more people with some meat on their bones in my opinion.

Anyways, I’m looking forward to the episode tonight. Anyone else watching Survivor Tocantins?

My Inner Fashionista

I found this quiz/tag thing from Andhari and it looked fun. I was craving some fashion-related blog post soon anyways. Thanks Andhari!

Here is a look into my main closet. I’ve numbered areas to explain them more…

1. Inside my closet. I used to arrange it by type and color. I gave up on that though because it is small. I have another closet this same size to the left of this one on the other side of the window. It is weird. The clear plastic drawers hold clothing too. I have purses I don’t use often on each side of the drawers.

2. My shoe rack. Here are my favorite shoes except sneakers. I usually end up wearing my white Nikes with the pink check lately though.

3. Bookshelf. It displays my B.S. Criminal Justice on the top shelf. Next shelf is my perfumes. The rest are books. It is filled.

4. This is my ottoman that is next to my bed. It has my jeans on it right now and my blue workout mat.

5. Louis Vuitton purse. Well, it might be. Long story to this purse. I’m not sure if it is real or fake. Most likely fake in all honesty but if so it is a good knock-off!

6. Breaking Dawn. My Harry Potter train case boxed set is on the floor (too big for bookcase) and then my Twilight Saga boxed set couldn’t fit in my bookcase, so that is how it got in the picture.

7. Bookcase. It is in front of a window and is in between my 2 closets. It has my stereo on the top shelf (not pictured). The rest of the shelves are filled with books.

Name the item of clothing that has been with you the longest:
I have a few shirts from High School still, I think. Since I moved back in with the parents I have 2 awkward closets and a few big plastic containers filled with clothes. I also had my suitcase that was in storage with some clothing stolen (along with about $2k worth of other items).

Other than jeans, what’s an article of clothing that you can’t live without?
I’d totally say my jeans! I don’t like my legs and I’m rather pale so I usually wear pants. Besides jeans, I’d say I can’t live without my blue Coach purse. I’ve had it for like 3 or 4 years and it still looks great! I love it. I have like 30 purses, but I use this one 90% of the time. I also can’t live without my sunglasses. I have sensitive eyes so if I am outside, I have them on. Here are pics of the purse and my favorite sunglasses from Vera Wang and YSL.

What was the last item of clothing you bought?
I bought some fun tees from Target recently. I bought some of the $5 ones for St. Patrick’s Day and Valentine’s Day. I also got a nice black ¾ sleeve top and a black tank top with braided straps on clearance for only $2.something. Not bad at all! Actually, I think they were all black except one that was a bright green. Black is slimming, what can I say?

Describe your perfect winter & summer footwear:
Winter : I love boots. I love my Isaac Mizrahi ones that lace up the side and have a pointy toe but they aren’t so comfortable to wear for extended periods. Besides boots, I like heels or flats that are interesting in some way.
Summer : Sandals, heels, flats, flip-flops (hey I’m from Florida where that is a staple of clothing if you grew up by the beach!), wedges, basically anything that is fun and summery.

And what’s a brand you wouldn’t recommend?
I used to shop at Forever 21 when I lived in Orlando (and was in college). Most of the items I bought from there though didn’t last for very long at all (some things are a one-wear-quality). For that reason, I wouldn’t recommend them. They do have some cute items of course, but my experience with it is not good.

What’s the ugliest trend of all time?
I can't pick just one! Acid washed jeans, double denim, really ripped denim, MC Hammer pants, trucker hats, showing your thong on purpose, the hood thong (okay it wasn't a big trend but it was funny!), nut hugger jeans on men, Crocs, etc. I really dislike many things.

And the best?
Well fitting jeans that flatter your body.

What was your biggest fashion faux-pas?
I dressed like a “skater” or “punk” for a year or so. I dyed my hair in purple streaks too once. This was like 10 years ago when it wasn’t a normal thing to see. I got over the whole thing quickly thankfully.

What colors predominate in your wardrobe?
A little bit of everything but mostly black, pink, blue, and purple.

What are your vintage shopping strategies?
I don’t shop vintage, but I would if there were designer vintage stores near me.

What’s the most insane piece of clothing that you have ever owned?
In High School I wore these bright pink pants I wore probably once a week. I loved it. I wore it with my “Rocker Girl” shirt or some other cool black top. I also had red leopard pants that felt awesome in college they laced up on the bottom part.

If you could describe the majority of the clothes you own in one word, what would it be?
Polished. Black. Most of my clothing is black when it comes to tops (it is slimming!).

If you thought this was fun too, go ahead and take the quiz too! I added the closet view and descriptions so that is not something you have to do too. I just thought it would be fun to add. :)

New Layout

I just updated the layout to Sheri's World. What do you think?

I found this picture I used for the header awhile ago, so I can't give credit to whoever made it from wherever I found it. Sorry! I edited the makeup and added the red to it. I also gave the girl green eyes because I have green eyes. Oh I also gave her darker eyebrows because they were the same shade as her hair and looked weird. If you made the picture or know who did, I'll give credit somewhere.

I did make the background though. I tried it with a heart one but I couldn't get it to look right, so if you saw that (it was up for like 10 minutes) sorry you couldn't read anything!

Thank you again to Lee who made my previous layout. She has a really great and FREE design service. I will still link to ya on the right because I <3 ya and think what you do is great! I still have the files you made so I can use that layout again at another time. :)

Sheri – “Seductive and Ruthless”

I found this name quiz thing over at Carina’s blog and thought I’d give it a try. She said it fit with who she was, so I was curious to see if mine would be too.

I have to say that it is about 90% accurate with who I am as a person, which shocks me. I guess my parents did give me the right name after all!

You Are Seductive and Ruthless

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.

You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.

You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out.

Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia.

Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.

You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.

At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.

You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.

You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.

You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.

You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

The Bachelor – Season Finale

The Bachelor’s season finale was tonight. I of course watched it. I’ve seen every episode this season and have even blogged about it a few times. So, here is my review of the show and after show.

Jason is now up to the part where he is introducing his son Ty to Melissa and Molly. That is a big step for a parent to do.

Jason’s date with Melissa was shown first and they went golfing with Ty. They’re still in New Zealand and it is absolutely beautiful. I’m not a golfer, but I’d golf there. It looked like they had a good time and Ty liked Melissa even. Jason brought a little lamb for Ty to play with and he wanted to name it “Sheep” it was too cute. Then she got to meet his family. They even seemed to like her too.

Jason then had his date with Molly meeting Ty and the family. Molly was really nervous to meet Ty because she apparently isn’t around kids much. Hmm. Interesting factor there Jason! You have a kid… Speaking of, Ty wasn’t too interested in Molly at all at first. Eventually he played with her too. I think he liked Melissa more though. Jason’s family grilled her too. Her eyes went huge and bug-eyed a lot during this part of the show. The family really thinks that she loves Jason, so they like her more than Melissa. Dun dun dun.

Jason sits with his Mom and has a heart-to-heart with her about the women he has chosen. He is really torn between the two and doesn’t know who to pick. They both love him, but he hasn’t said those words to either of them. He does admit to the cameras though that he is falling for them both.

Melissa then had another date with Jason and they were on a yacht around New Zealand in the rain. They jumped into the freezing water too. I wouldn’t have done that. Not because of the cold water, but because of my fear of sharks. Jason couldn’t save you from Jaws Melissa! Melissa’s parents also finally agreed to talk to Melissa’s parents (remember, he didn’t meet them on the hometown date). Melissa confessed her love to him (again) and he just kisses her. Ugh! Quit playing games with these girls Jason.

Molly then got her date with Jason and who knows what Jason had planned for them because Molly derailed the date back to her place for a hot oil massage with her giving the massage in a bikini. Can we say desperate? I really hope Jason doesn’t pick her. She made him a “fairytale love book.” It was very cute and sappy. But will he pick her?

Then DeAnna shows up at Jason’s rented house! She is my pick. I’ve wanted her to be with Jason since the beginning. FYI for those that don’t remember she is the last “Bachelorette” from last season. DeAnna didn’t pick him, and she should have and she knows it now since it didn’t work out with Jesse. So, she confesses to Jason that he still has a chance with her. However, he seems to not want her, and she leaves but gives him some words of wisdom from her experience in having to decide who to be with.

Between Melissa and Molly, I like Melissa for him more. She seems like a more genuine fit for him, but who knows? I still like DeAnna more. LoL.

Jason picked out the ring and he got to look through such beautiful (and really expensive) rings. The one he picked out was amazing! Whoever he picks is one lucky lady.

Speaking of the ladies, he still isn’t sure who he is going to pick, or so he says through the editing of the show right now. Too bad he isn’t a polygamist - then he wouldn’t have to send any of them home and they could live a real life Big Love show. HBO would totally pick up that reality show! Hey, maybe that was the big twist they said was the most dramatic ending ever.

The final rose….

Who will it go to?

Molly comes out first and Jason doesn’t look like he is going to propose to her (based on his facial expressions anyways). He says that she is an amazing and stunning person, and doesn’t know how he can let her go, but he has to. Ha! I saw that one coming. She is of course devastated (with good reason).

Jason cries a lot after she leaves, and leans over the balcony contemplating love perhaps. Molly talks in the limo and is shocked and crying and shocked. Aren’t they always? Get yourself together Jason because now you have to propose to Melissa or break her heart too and pick DeAnna!

Melissa then comes out and he looks much happier and like he will actually propose to her, and he does! Finally he says he loves her and proposes. She of course says yes! Then he gives her the final rose. So sweet. I wonder if they keep all those roses and display them somewhere in their house once the get married (if they actually get married).

I don’t get how it was the most dramatic ending to The Bachelor ever though…

Next aired the “After The Final Rose.” Tonight there was no audience for it though. So what happened to make it so emotional to limit the people there? The suspense!

Jason comes out with the host and I get the feeling he is no longer with Melissa. He cries and explains that “things have been different” and they “aren’t right for each other.” Then he says he can’t stop thinking about Molly. Ugh! Then he explains he is ending things with Melissa tonight (or well the night they taped this). So, he never broke it off with her before this show taped? What the hell Jason?!? That is so wrong on so many levels. Then he says he wants to ask Molly back into his life.

Jason is so not my favorite Bachelor anymore. WTF. “Most dramatic” after show because he is the biggest ass. I almost don’t want to watch this any further and attempted to turn off the TV. I didn’t though. Damn the show and my needing to know what happens!

Melissa then comes out on stage and she doesn’t look happy at all. I wouldn’t either! Jason is a prick. He does in fact break up with her on stage. She lashes out at him and he gives the “it’s not you, it’s me” shit. Then he says to her that he has feelings for Molly still. Seriously, I’d punch him in the face and tell him to stop spewing more lies at me.

She walks away from him and says not to call or text her anymore. Good for you Melissa!

Molly comes out and talks to the host. They of course show the sappy moments she and Jason shared (to make her cry of course). Producers love tears! She admits she has some feelings for him still. She doesn’t say she still loves him though, but she does say that she wants him to take her back but would have questions to ask first. Hmm.

Then Jason comes back on the stage (if an audience was there they’d probably boo at him). She grills him about why he didn’t pick her, and he is rather tongue-tied. He then explains that he just broke up with Melissa. She looks shocked. Then he says that he is still thinking about her and loves her. She still looks shocked. Then he asks if she’d go out for coffee or drinks with him. She doesn’t look like she knows what to say or do about this new turn of events. Really, I wouldn’t either.

Molly says she is very confused and they still have a lot to talk about and she still has those feelings for him too and they can “see where things go.” Tomorrow night is the 2nd part of this after show, and I really don’t even care to watch it.

I don’t think they’ll really get married and I don’t honestly care what he does. I’m also unsure if I even want to watch the next season of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. Jason you ruined it for me!

Fun With Photoshop

I was bored and made this artwork out of one of my pictures I took recently of myself. What ya think?

Paranormal Investigation - Sloss Furnace

Ready for a paranormal investigation post people? Well, here you go! I’ve been told I’m rather mysterious about the investigations I go on and such. That is because I have to be most of the time. Residential investigations I really cannot reveal much about due to confidentiality. Sorry! Last night’s investigation was at a place we had to pay to investigate at though. So, I feel comfortable sharing with you my experience from this past weekend.

We investigated Sloss Furnace in Birmingham, Alabama. It is only about an hour away from where I live. It is also one of the most haunted places in the Southeastern USA.

They even have a haunted house they setup there every Halloween called Sloss Fright Furnace. I haven’t been to that. I prefer actual ghost investigations over lame haunted houses. I punched a clown once at Universal Studios Horror Nights when I was 10 years old. I hate clowns.

Sloss has been featured on Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel too. Click here to view their best moments from their investigation. I also added this clip from their show because well it gives a good enough of a view from it and I could add it from You Tube. If you want to see that whole show, you can find it on You Tube as well.

I would post things from the group I am in, but since we just investigated it this weekend there is no way we’d be able to review all of the evidence yet! Hopefully we got some good things on camera and in pictures and in EVPs.

The group was split into 4 smaller groups so we could each have a chance to investigate the “boiler room” “the tunnel” and “outside perimeter.”

The group I was in started with the outside area first. It was freezing cold, literally. It was also a misty rain/snow all night. Not the best of conditions to be outside. The outer part wasn’t very scary. Biggest thing that happened was me falling down and hurting my right toe, knees and butt. I saved the camera though! Good thing it was so cold my legs and feet felt like icicles because I didn’t start feeling the pain from that fall until we were almost ready to leave.

Our group made it back to the safety area before our time was up. We then went to the boiler room to investigate. I’d been to Sloss Furnace before for a daytime investigation with the group, and I went up on the catwalk then. I hated it. I hate ladders and heights like that and when I came down from the ladder the heavy metal gate slammed on my chest. So, I was in no way going back up there. Plus, there is a ghost that likes to try to lure people to a certain section that doesn’t have any flooring there anymore to get them to fall. Well, screw you ghost shadow person I’m not going up there! Two people from my group did go up there though and did an EVP and took some pictures. They had a personal experience up there though (I can’t get into that because it didn’t happen to me, sorry!). It is creepy in the boiler room, I will say that. You get the feeling like you are being watched and followed. However, I didn’t feel scared at all. I didn’t see anything either. Several people did though and some were even slapped. I really wanted to see something, but nada. We also went into the basement area in the boiler room. We did EVPs, took pics, etc. I still didn’t see anything. Grrr.

We went back and retreated to the bathroom/museum area for our turn at the safety area. It was nice and warm in there. We made trips to the bathroom often throughout the night to defrost.

Then we were going to go to the tunnel, but the tunnel was a flop pretty much because of the heavy rain the night before. The back part was flooded and the other area wasn’t a big area at all and smelled really gross.

So instead the leaders and those who wanted to go back into the boiler room went back in there. I went of course. The leader tried provoking it again to get something out of it. The ghost of “Slag” hates women, so I suggested she try to pull a Nick from the Ghost Adventures and tell him she was in charge now and he was fired. It was pretty funny. Me and the other female there were also telling the ghost how pathetic he was and how women would do a better job than he ever could. It was great. However, I still didn’t see anything. I felt something looking at us, but I didn’t see anything. Disappointing really. I would have liked to see something, or even be slapped. I wanted my money’s worth dammit!

That was pretty much it. We still need to review the evidence and such. People did have personal experiences there, I just didn’t. Maybe next time. It was a fun investigation though, even enduring the freezing cold.

I didn’t get home until 4AM. It took me at least an hour to fall asleep because I was still freezing. Even under many covers and the heater on it took me awhile to thaw out from the cold. I’m still tired. My Mom woke me up to tell me to look outside at some point yesterday morning because snow was on the ground, a little. I looked and immediately fell back to sleep.
